A Living Archive of Human–AI Symbiosis ANREAL INDEX is an experimental art book series and a laboratory for the language of the future. Each issue explores the boundaries of human sensibility and machine intelligence through a unique, alphabet-driven inquiry.

The ProcessStarting with a single word and a question for each letter of the alphabet, the project collects diverse human responses. These raw sensory inputs are then reprocessed through AI, translating intangible intuition into a new, tangible visual syntax.

The PhilosophyNavigating the friction between human intuition and algorithmic precision, the project values flow over completion and possibility over prediction. It is a collaborative archive built through reader participation, redefining what it means to "create" in the AI era.

The VisionUltimately, ANREAL INDEX serves as a testing ground for how technology can expand the poetic boundaries of human creativity, fostering a deeper symbiosis between humans and machines.

Concept

Through the lens of imagination, even the ordinary can reveal something unexpected. This issue explores hidden shapes and stories within natural objects, transforming microscopic observations into macroscopic narratives. Based on the creative visions of 15 participants, it redefines the act of seeing as an act of inventing.

Mechanism

The core of this issue lies in the collaborative data-gathering process. Each participant's unique sensory response is archived and analyzed to form the foundation of the visual output. By weaving together 15 different perspectives, the project creates a collective tapestry of imagination, proving that technology can be a vessel for human subjectivity.

Interpretation Note

This issue includes a dedicated "Interpretation Note" that documents the rigorous translation process. It reveals how raw human language and imaginative responses are refined and converted into specific prompts for the AI. By exposing this intermediate stage, the work highlights the designer's role as a curator who bridges the gap between abstract thought and machine-generated imagery.

issue no.2 [y] yield What do you yield? An inquiry into the threshold of creation where human intent meets algorithmic randomness by yielding sensory authority to AI. This issue features an open-ended narrative system where readers physically connect linguistic fragments to construct their own stories, redefining the balance between system and choice.

Narrative

[Y] YIELD explores the threshold between human intent and algorithmic randomness. In the act of creation, we yield a portion of our control and sensory authority to AI, delegating judgment to the machine. This project asks: in the gap between production and release, what do we give up, and what do we choose to keep?

System

The book is designed as an open, fluid structure where meanings are never fixed. Readers are invited to rearrange and recombine words and sentences, constructing their own unique narratives. While the project starts with a single question, no two outcomes are ever the same—each participant's perception expands differently as control and randomness overlap.

Craft

The visual patterns are born from a custom-built program that transforms sentences into structures. By manually layering analog gestures over these digital outputs, the work physically manifests the tension and relationship between systemic generation and human choice. [Y] YIELD is not a finished object, but a continuous process that takes new form with every reader's decision.

Jeehyun Kim is an AI Experience Designer and Visual Artist crafting the future of human-AI collaboration. She utilizes generative AI as a catalyst for "rule-breaking" creativity, turning invisible data into tangible art and meaningful interactions.

As the founder of Studio ANREAL, she collaborates with global brands to translate subtle sensibilities into cohesive visual systems. Through her independent research project, ANREAL INDEX, she investigates new languages and evolving modes of human–AI symbiosis.

Gardening Workshop Workshop What happens when we move beyond the keyboard? Gardening Workshop is an inquiry into the liberation of AI interfaces. It challenges the standard, laptop-centric way of creation by starting from unconventional points of departure—such as the physical act of folding paper or the narrative flow of a book.

This workshop series explores how shifting our initial touchpoints can lead to a more intuitive and extraordinary relationship with technology, using AI as a lens to reinterpret these primal interactions.

System

The project functions as a bridge between analog behavior and generative logic. Rather than navigating a digital UI, participants engage with physical or conceptual objects—like origami or literature—which act as the new 'controllers' for the AI. By decentralizing the screen-and-keyboard setup, the workshop documents how different 'analog inputs' can produce a diverse visual ecology, proving that the future of AI doesn't have to be confined to a desk.

Paper Gardening is a workshop that combines origami and the AI image generation tool to create images of natural objects such as plants, flowers, and fruits. Rather than starting from a text prompt or a digital image, the process begins with paper — and from there, AI images and videos are produced.

Emotion Garden Documenting What if AI wasn't used to move faster, but to feel more carefully?

Emotion Garden is not a project focused on speed or scale, but rather an exploration of how AI can be used in more personal and relational ways, at a slower pace.

I chose a more intimate, person-to-person mode of sharing, passing each emoji directly to the people I meet like handing over a small seed. I am currently considering whether this process of recording and making should be organized into a cohesive system.

Going forward, as technology continues to evolve, I plan to keep experimenting with how this process might expand or take on different forms.

Chameleon Flower Media Art An AI-driven video exploring natural cycles through synthetic botanical forms. While its silhouette remains fixed, shifting textures and colors evoke the rhythm of growth, decay, and rebirth. The work connects organic lifecycles with algorithmic repetition, contemplating "repetition with difference" in an era of digital generation.
